Welcome to the Baseline Fundamentals course! This training provides a foundational introduction to the Baseline irrigation control system and the products that work together to deliver smart, efficient water management.
Throughout this course, you'll learn about the core components of the Baseline system and how they integrate with BaseManager, Baseline's browser-based software platform, to monitor, manage, and optimize irrigation performance. By using real-time data and advanced irrigation technology, Baseline solutions help water managers conserve resources while maintaining healthy landscapes.
Each module includes a knowledge check to reinforce key concepts and prepare you for the Fundamentals Certification. Successfully completing the course demonstrates that you have a foundational understanding of Baseline products, their functions, and how they work together as part of an intelligent irrigation control system.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the architecture and capabilities of the Baseline® irrigation control platform, including the Basestation 1000, 3200S controller, BaseManager, AppManager, and MobileAccess.
- Identify the major controller components, field devices, bicoders, sensors, and communication hardware used in Baseline irrigation systems.
- Configure Baseline controllers by searching, assigning, and programming zones, master valves, sensors, water sources, control points, and flow paths.
- Develop irrigation schedules by creating programs, start times, water windows, and zone run times using both the controller face panel and BaseManager.
- Configure Smart Watering strategies, Start, Stop, and Pause conditions, and apply sensor data to improve irrigation efficiency and water conservation.
- Utilize BaseManager and AppManager to monitor system performance, manage devices, generate reports, troubleshoot field components, and perform remote irrigation operations.
- Differentiate between conventional and two-wire system architectures, including wiring requirements, grounding practices, surge protection, and recommended installation procedures.
- Perform controller diagnostics using Self-Test, LiveView, Messages, Reports, and troubleshooting tools to identify and resolve communication, wiring, and device issues.
- Apply industry best practices for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and cloud-connected irrigation management to optimize system reliability, resource efficiency, and long-term performance.
